Bangladesh is an overpopulated country. As per the latest census, the population of over 16 crores. Its total land area is 1,47,570 square kilometers. Evidentlý in proportion to its area it has a vast population. The country can hardly support this huge popúlation. Consequence Area country is afflicted with many problems. But if this vast population can be turned into, the resourče, they will be a blessing instead of being a curse for the country. Bangladesh being burdened with this huge population is faced with various problems such a poverty, abode crisis, environment pollution, illiteracy, drinking water crisis, immature deaths price hike, child labor, terrorism, corruption, etc. If we delve into the origins of this problem we will see that these are the outcome of an ignorant and unskilled population, who instead of ben productive and creative are only consuming the products and thus are a burden to the country. Bangladesh has great potentials to turn into a developed country with its fertile land and vas expanse of sea. But the ignorant and unskilled people not being able to utilize these resources, the country suffers from these problems. But if we look at this vast population from an enlightened viewpoint, this population has a prospect of being ranked among the developed countries of the world. In a census, a man is just a number whereas the potential of a man is infinite. If we tum every man and woman into an asset, they will rapidly lead the country towards prosperity. Naturally, every child has many latent talents that can be fully flourished or developed in a congenial and supportive environment. They can be scientists, engineers, doctors, agriculturists, etc. Ours is an agricultural country. But most of our farmers being illiterate and ignorant of scientific cultivation cannot produce many crops. So, if today’s children can be educated and well versed in scientific agriculture, they will contribute greatly to our national development. knowledge about water resources can utilize our vast sea and thus can promote our national They having scientific development. We have to bear in mind, educated people are assets. They can perform their duties properly and skillfully. So, we have to make our people educated and skilled in various sectors. A man can never be an isolated entity. He is bonded to others in society in different types o relations. A man is a father, brother, uncle, husband, son, etc. while a woman is a mother, Wie. daughter, aunt, etc. As such everyone is liable to carry out different duties to these relatives. S. they being truly educated can perform their duties properly. If they carry out their responsibilities towards their families properly and conduct their famílies towards prosperity, the country will go ahead. People live in society and as such everyone has some duties to society, They must work to maintain social peace and social development. If every educated man and woman carries out the Social duties, there remains no trace of poverty, injustice, disorder, terrorism in the society. So, it is clear that the huge population being turned into a human resource can contribute to national development. Then instead of being only consumers, they will be productive and skilled utilizing our natural resources. People being developed intellectually and rationally will carry their duties properly to their families. Society and thus to their country, ensuring national prosperity. So our population is not a problem if we fag it as a power of strength.
